Florida Insurance Coverage Guidelines

Property Damage Liability ($10,000 coverage) - Required

Pays for damage to others’ property including other cars, fences, utility poles, buildings, etc. Higher limits of coverage are optional.

Personal Injury Protection (10,000 coverage) - Required

This medical insurance provides coverage regardless of fault and covers the driver and passengers who don’t carry their own PIP. It pays:
• 80% of reasonable medical expenses. Extra protection is optional.
• 60% of lost wages
• $5000 in death benefits
• expenses for replacement services (yard work, child care, housework)

Bodily Injury Liability

This insurance covers you in the event you cause injury to other drivers, their passengers, or pedestrians. Minimum coverage is $10,000 per person or $20,000 per occurrence, however, higher limits are strongly recommended.

Collision

Pays to repair damage to your own vehicle even if you cause the accident.

Uninsured Motorists

In the event you or your passenger(s) are injured by an uninsured driver, this insurance will cover excess medical bills and provide for compensation if you are permanently injured.

Comprehensive

Pays for additional non-collision damage to your vehicle such as hail damage, or dents and dings caused by flying objects

Rental / Towing Reimbursement Coverage

Pays for a car rental or towing in the event your car is damaged and must be repaired.
